Expeditions and Destinations

We move m/v STORM throughout the year to always be in the right place for the best activity.  We operate in the Pacific Side of the Baja Peninsula, off the South of Baja, and inside the entire Sea of Cortez.  Our charters and expeditions include Live Aboard Scuba Diving in some remote and untouched areas, Natural History Filming Expeditions, and Science / Exploration Expeditions.

Sea of Cortez - La Paz area

Season: All year.


The area in the Sea of Cortez is one of our most popular destinations for a variety of activity from snorkeling, SCUBA diving, bird watching, whale watching, or just enjoying the landscape.

The Socorro Island are home to a massive collection of ocean Pelagics.  Giant Pacific Mantas with wing spans up to 22 feet across dance with divers.  There are sharks galore with hammerhead schools, white tips, silver tips, silkies, threshers, galapagos and even occasionally tiger sharks.  Humpback  Whales, Whale Sharks, Dolphins, schools of fish all at one site.

Revillagigedos / Socorro

Season: December - May.


The Revillagigedos Archipelago is hands down some of the best BIG ANIMAL diving anyplace in the world.  This area is more commonly known as Socorro Island and is actually made up of 4 islands ( San Benedicto, Socorro, Roca Partida, and Clarion).

The Sea of Cortez is a very special body of water full of adventures.  Its hard to believe but there is still tons of new finds and expeditions out there.
We have moments throughout the year to do Sea of Cortez trips but we really focus on the spring where its just EPIC Daily.  Blue Whales, Humpback Whales, Dolphins, Migratory Birds, Reptiles, essentially the whole area is just alive and active, not the mention the weather is AWESOME.

Mag Bay - Sea Mounts

Season: November - December


Our Mag Bay season is sold out every year.  The animal life is just amazing and unique to Baja.  Truly some wild west diving of Mexico.  This is such a great liveaboard opportunity and compared to daily long boat rides in pangas to these locations its a no brainer, go liveaboard. 

The Sea Mounts are full of live, we have bait balls with all predators.  One of the key players in this area is the Striped Marlin but we also have Tuna, Sharks, and other Marlins.  The diving on the island walls are full of Lobster and Sea Bass.  Did we mentioned we have Wreck Diving ?

Season: June - September


Our Pacific Island season is by far one of our most diverse and wide ranging areas.  A very unique area of colder water on the upper half of the Pacific side of Baja.  The water is a bit colder but the water is rich with life.  This is the epitome of wild west diving and we are the experts.
